Tight Parking ? - Just Fold Up The Car
30-year old British designer David Goncalves has come up with the perfect solution for inner city traffic congestion and lack of parking - A compact foldable car.
His vision is a very futuristic-looking car that can drive in a compact upright position or on all four wheels, resembling a small sleek sports car. The best part is that if needed, the car can fold into two, making it even more compact and easier to park. In fact, David says that four of his folded cars can easily fit into one conventional parking spot.
Dubbed Scarab, the car can fit only one person and has been designed as a hybrid vehicle that can be powered by either battery, bio-fuel or both. It's four wheels, fitted with individual electric motors, are each the width of bicycle tires.
Though similar to a motor bike, David says his car has some added benefits. For one, it is covered, which helps in bad weather. Also, it has room for luggage and can be fitted with a GPS system.
The car however, is in very early concept stage and not expected to hit mainstream for another decade - just around the time when most of you are getting ready to drive!
