After 20 years of entertaining the World with their weekly half-hour antics, Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie Simpson are finally getting the respect they deserve - Their own individual postage stamps.

The 44ct stamps will be available at US Post Offices, starting May 9th. The Postal services said while they receive over 50,000 suggestions from customers each year, only 20 are selected.

'The Simpsons' family made the cut this year, because it is the longest running television show, with fans all over the world. The USPS is hoping that their popularity will help spark interest in stamp collecting as a hobby once more.

While there have been other celebrities prior to this, 'The Simpsons' are the first family to be bestowed this honor whilst still on television.

Besides the book of 20 stamps, the post office will also sell stamped post cards and an array of other 'Simpson' memorabilia, including matted posters of each individual member, as well as, one featuring the entire family.

The USPS is asking customers to vote on which of the stamps they like the best and enter a free sweepstakes to win one of 25 limited design posters signed by the creator of the show, Matt Groening.

If you would like to pre-order the stamps, vote for your favorite stamp, enter the sweepstakes or simply see what other Simpson goodies are available, check out: http://www.usps.com/promotions/simpsons.htm.
