Video Of The Week - The Science Behind Ariel Skiing
As you probably know, behind every successful athlete is a successful technique, which more often than not, is based on commonly known scientific principals. As we count down to the 2010 Winter Olympics, we will examine some of the extreme winter sports and the simple scientific principals behind them.
This week, we analyze the sport of Freestyle Ariel's, where athletes are judged on their ability to perform seemingly impossible jumps in mid-air. As you will see from the video below, the basis of these jumps is three simple twisting techniques you can practice in your classrooms - Watch and learn!
