Dressed in her shiny white pearls, white cardigan and blue poodle skirt, three-year old Lucy Brown was just hoping to be noticed for her trendy apparel, but her bloodshot eyes and excessive drooling impressed the judges so much, that they bestowed the chubby canine with the prestigious title of 'Most Beautiful Bulldog'.

Now in its 32nd year, the annual contest, that took place on April 25th, is organized by Des Moines based Drake University as a precursor to the Drake Relays - The nation's oldest and most prestigious track and field competition.

To win the title, the three-year old had to outshine 49 other equally good-looking contestants that had come dressed as ballerinas, rock stars, cheerleaders and even angels, complete with wings. But Lucy had everything the judges were looking for - She maintained a good demeanor, allowing everybody to pet her without as much letting out a bark. She also had the most perfect bowed legs, bloodiest eyes and the largest amount of drool coming down from the corners of her mouth and most importantly - She was impeccably dressed!

Lucy's yearlong tenure began with a bang on April 28th, when she was paraded around the stadium as the official mascot for the Drake Relays and the Drake University Bulldog at the opening ceremonies of the championships.

As for the rest of the year, her owner, Aaron is a little concerned about how they will be able to get her out of the house to fulfill any further duties - Since all this beautiful dog likes to do is sleep!
