Thursday, August 18th, did not start out too well for Sebastian Russo. The Queens resident had just rushed into a pet store to run a quick errand leaving his two boys, 7-year old John and 5-year old Robert and toy poodle Colette in the running car, when he was told by a fellow shopper that someone had driven off with it.

The worried father immediately informed the police to discuss the best course of action. While the adults fretted about the 'poor kids' and the 'helpless pooch' a totally hilarious drama was unfolding in the car - Colette, the little toy poodle was so furious at this unknown stranger driving the family minivan, that she perched herself in the front seat and began yapping at him incessantly.

If that wasn't enough, the two young boys began to berate the car thief for driving away with the wrong car and then accused him of stealing their dad's money when he tried to reach out for the cash in the car's change pocket.

Turns out, that the trio drove the carjacker so crazy, that he asked them for their address, dropped the car at their doorstep and then just took off, with his face hidden inside his shirt!

Mr. Russo and the police were still discussing an organized manhunt when his wife called to find out where he was - given that the car, kids and dog were all home!

While a bit unnerved by the whole incident, the family is not really that mad at the thief - He did after all drop the kids and dog home safely. Hopefully, he also learnt a lesson or two about 'looking before he leaps'!
