Referring to someone as 'two-faced', usually means he/she is deceitful or insincere. But Venus the cat is neither - She actually has . . . . . . Two faces! Completely black on the right and completely ginger on the left. What's even more amazing is that even her eye colors are different - blue on the ginger side and green on the black side.

The striking-looking cat that now resides in Florida with Christina and Chris began her life as a feral stray at a North Carolina dairy farm. Christina discovered her accidentally after a friend posted some photos on her Facebook page.

It was love at first sight! Given that she had an orange tabby and a black cat already, Christina thought adding Venus to the family seemed to make perfect sense. Given that the family was not really looking for an additional pet, she had to convince Chris a little. But once he saw the two gorgeous eyes he too, could not resist.

They contacted the farmer, who had no objection and after a quick check-up with a local veterinarian, Venus was flown to her new home in Florida. However, this unusual cat was destined to be famous.

After a photograph of her on an online website garnered over one million views, Christina decided it was time to show off her unusual pet some more and posted a video on YouTube, which as expected, has gone viral, attracting over 1.7 million views in just three weeks. Venus has become so famous that she was even featured on NBC's Today Show, a few weeks ago.

So how did Venus turn out so unique - No one knows for sure. While many people think she is a 'Chimera' - a term referred to animals that have two kinds of DNA, which happens when embryos fuse together, Leslie Lyons, a professor at The University of California, Davis, is not so sure. The domestic cat genetics expert believes that the only way this can be ascertained is by taking a skin sample from both sides and performing a DNA test. Her other theory is that Venus may have just gotten lucky - that perhaps for some random reason all the black cells got activated on one side and the ginger, on the other!

And, the color of her face is not the only mysterious thing about this feline. Unless they are Siamese or largely white, cat eyes are normally green or yellow. Since Venus is definitely not the former and only has a tiny patch of white on her fur, her one blue eye is also an anomaly.

While experts may not agree on how Venus got her mixed coloring and eyes, they all agree on one thing - She is an extremely rare and gorgeous looking cat!
