This sequel to Tin Star was a deeply intense read; much more so than the first book, which was just Tula's walk in the park compared to what she goes through in this one. It starts off a bit slow, but quickly picks up the pace when something happens: a lone starship crashes on Quint, the long depleted-of-all-resources and uninhabited world. The world that Tula can only stare at from her window. Until all of a sudden the mysterious figure (sorry, no spoilers!) who mistakenly crash-landed on the planet discovers that it is blooming with alin flowers–a rare, much-sought, flower that almost no one has. This attracts much attention–especially unwanted attention. Everything that happened from that point on caused Tula to become a fugitive, forced to leave the place she has called ":home" to escape her execution. And she still seeks revenge on Brother Blue. I really enjoyed reading this book. This is not a light book. There is death, war, revenge, poverty, and sadness all around, but overall it brought a good message–hope is not something you want to lose.Almost 8 years agohappypug12 added a book review.

Looks awesome, can't wait to read it.Almost 8 years agohappypug12's book review was featured in Bandette Volume 1: Presto!.
I don't usually review comics, but this one definitely took my expectations for comics to a whole new level. Beautifully illustrated and set in a modern time France, we meet our heroine swiftly, Bandette! Presto! A absolutely love her wit, her grace, and of course, her knockout spray, secret hideout (with the code to enter posted courteously on a sticky note right outside the hideout), her not-all-that-secret passion for chocolate bars, her dramatic yellow cape, and of course, her puppy, Pimento! Very inspiring (and hilarious) for teen girls (but don't worry, boys'll love it too). Usually I have a thing against perfect heroes, but Bandette pulled it off and stole the show (literally). Definitely going to be reading this series! The only thing I would mention is that there is a tiny bit of bad language, but other than that it was presto! :)Almost 8 years agohappypug12 added a book review.

why in the world would u want computers to replace humans? as if u would get any advantage............ and besides....if u were replaced by a robot...u would not enjoy anything right? who knows...there could be major problems.i do not think that is a good idea at allAlmost 8 years agohappypug12liked a comment in The Martian.
Incredible! Absolutely incredible! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I've read the book and seen the movie. Matt Damon did an amazing job as Mark Watney. As he said "It's space. It doesn't cooperate." The suspense was awesome, and the portrayal of the station and of Mars was so accurate, even being the nerd I am, I couldn't find a single flaw. Good job, Damon. Good job.Almost 8 years agohappypug12 has read this book.
