The San Francisco Ocean Film Festival has become a must-see event for all nature lovers. Now in it's fifth year, this family friendly event starts at the Comwell Theatre on February 1st-3rd. The festival features films that showcase our incredible oceans, their marine life and the importance of our ecosystem.

This year, the festival has over four dozen documentaries and animated films from all around the world. As would be expected, ecological issues are an important part of the Festival. The two most anticipated documentaries this year are - "Pulp, Poo and Perfection" about the effects of sewage in our oceans and "Higher Ground: - about the erosion of beaches in Florida. Amateur movies filmed by bay area residents, of the recent oil spill in the San Francisco Bay, (DOGONews - Issue 4) will also be featured prominently this year.

The program also includes presentations by filmmakers and content experts. This year, for the first time, there will also be awards for the best documentaries in four categories - Adventure, Environment, Wildlife and Culture.
