Who would have thought that someone would pay $960 U.S. Dollars for poop? Granted this is no ordinary poop - it's 130 million years old and came from a dinosaur living in the Jurassic Era.

The fossiled dung which resembles a rock, was purchased by Steve Tsengas from Fairport Harbor, Ohio. Steve has a company called OurPets, which sells products to treat cat and dog poop.

He is planning to use his purchase for advertising his own business at trade shows and also for motivating his employees - exactly how he is planning on doing that was not explained.

Looks like Steven was not the only person who wanted this item, since he ended up paying almost double the minimum bid price of $450 U.S. Dollars.

While auction officials at Bonhams New York were pleasantly surprised at the price they received for the dinosaur dung, some of their other items did not do so well. One of their star items, a one-ton meteorite that was expected to sell for over $2.2 million U.S. Dollars did not excite buyers, with the highest bid coming in at $1.75 million U.S. Dollars.

Other items up for auction include a 30,000 year-old woolly mammoth tusk, a giant beaver skull and a skeleton of a Russian Cave Bear.
