Surya, a four-year old Orangutan, living at The Institute of Greatly Endangered and Rare Species in Miami, Florida has discovered a new passion - Jet Skiing!

The mischievous ape was introduced to a motorized child-size Jet Ski as part of the center's weekly enrichment program for the Orangutans. He took to it immediately, and is now often seen, whizzing around the lake, waving cheekily at the bystanders.

Just like any typical four-year old, Surya loves the water but hates getting his head wet - he is always seen wearing his bright red life jacket.

While Orangutans are not natural swimmers, the center introduced Surya and his comrades to the water when they were babies. Now most of them are comfortable in the lake, especially with the life jackets on. Some have even learnt to swim without them.

Surya however, prefers to Jet-Ski rather than just hang out in the water and makes a bee-line for it, as soon as he gets to the lake.
