On a day when most of his cohorts end up under the carving knife, Courage, a Tom Pumpkin will be strutting his feathers, as the Grand Marshall of the Thanksgiving Parade, at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California.

While that it great, what's even more impressive is how Courage got to Disneyland. He flew in the first class cabin of a specially chartered United Airways flight, along with his pal Carolina, who will not only provide him company, but also, be ready to fill in, in case Courage cannot fulfill his obligations.

How did a turkey from North Carolina get so lucky? That's because he was the one chosen to receive a pardon from President Barack Obama and his daughters, Malia and Sasha, in an elaborate ceremony held in the Rose Garden on Wednesday.

While the turkey 'pardoning' has been going on for a while, it was made official by President George Bush in 1989. The trip to the 'World's Happiest Place', however, is a recent add on - one that began in 2005.

And there's more . . . . Once Courage has fulfilled his 'duties', he and his pal Carolina will spend the rest of their days hanging out at Santa's Reindeer Round-Up at Big Frontierland. Did I hear some one say luckyyyyy?

To the rest of the turkeys, who are not as fortunate, we can only say two words 'Gobble Gobble'.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
