How would a bank celebrate its 20th birthday - With a cake of course! And what would be more appropriate then one that looks like a bank vault stuffed with currency? Think that's impossible? Look again - That picture above is a cake made for The Commerce Bank of Washington and, it's edible too!

The amazing creation is the work of pastry chef, Mike McCarey, whose company aptly named 'Mikes Amazing Cakes', is known for its awesome cakes - made entirely from natural ingredients.

Mike who has always loved to cook, honed his cooking skills at a culinary academy in Denver, Colorado. Upon graduation, he spent many years as pastry chef at various restaurants and bakeries in New York and Colorado.

In 1995, he finally decided to focus on the one thing that gave him the most pleasure - cakes, and opened his own bakery in Seattle, Washington.

Right from the beginning Mike's motto has been, 'nothing is impossible', when it comes to cakes - If his clients request it, he creates it. Each of his cake are baked to be as life-like and as unique, as possible.

As is quite obvious from his creations, while Mike will make you simple one-dimensional cake if requested, it is the state-of-art, three-dimensional cakes that get his creative juices really going!

Mike, whose first 'amazing' cake creation was the head of a cartoon cow, says that his most challenging project to-date, was baking a 10ft replica of the Grand California Hotel for Disneyland, largely due to the intricate arches of the building.

Not only are Mike's cakes great to look at, they also taste good and can be ordered in exotic flavors like lemon, coconut, poppy and even pecan! YUM!
