Casey Anderson and Brutus are best friends - They take long walks, swim and even hang out in the Jacuzzi together. In fact, they are so close that when Casey recently got married he asked Brutus to be his best man - and of course his friend obliged.

While that is a normal thing for a best friend to do, it is a little unusual when the friend is a 800lbs grizzly bear.

When the big day arrived in August last year, Brutus was the model 'best bear', until the cake arrived.

Then just like any naughty six-year old, he pounced on it and gulped it down, before the astounded bride and groom could do anything! After that, the happy grizzly turned back to being the model 'best bear' once again.

Besides hanging out with Casey, Brutus has also starred in a couple of movies, commercials (see video below) and has made several private presentations to raise funds to help save the Yellowstone grizzlies. In fact, it was while Brutus was filming Pretty Ugly People, that Anderson met his wife, Hollywood actress Missy Pyle, who also starred in 'Charlie And The Chocolate Factory'.

Anderson's friendship with Brutus began in 2002, when the little bear, born at an a center in Idaho, USA was going to be put down, because the center had no room for him.

Casey, who had been brought up exploring the wilderness of Montana and loves wild animals, decided to 'adopt' him. He brought the baby bear back to Montana to raise him in an environment free of cages. Since then, they have been inseparable.

Casey, who now runs the Montana Grizzly Encounter - a rescue center for bears like Brutus, is on a mission to educate people about grizzlies and how to preserve our natural environment.

For the last year, he, Brutus and a crew from the National Geographic have been following the Yellowstone grizzlies and documenting their life in the wild. The effort has been captured in a fascinating film, entitled Expedition Grizzly, scheduled to be aired on television on May 9th.
