Eskil Ronningsbakken is a 29-year old Norwegian who practices a unique form of art - taking pictures of himself in extremely precarious situations. While others may call them crazy stunts, he likes to call his work 'expressions of art' - After seeing his latest 'creation', we are convinced that it is a bit of both!

In his latest piece of art, the Norwegian, who says he is an 'educated balancing performer', performs a solo handstand on a ladder that has been placed on the edge of the 300 meter Flysdalsjuvet cliff in Geiranger. And just in case you think this was a one-time lucky stunt, Eskil repeated the balancing act 40 times because he wasn't satisfied with the pictures.

While the whole 'stunt' was definitely risky, especially since Eskil doesn't use a safety net, the Norwegian says he is very meticulous about all the equipment he uses. In this case the ladder was built by him and friend who is a construction expert. While it was not attached to anything, it was built to ensure that it could withstand all the weight on the end he was perched on, not the side that stood on the cliff. Eskil said he has dreamed of doing this scene since 2001, but started seriously working on it just three months ago.

Ronnigsbaken has been working on his balancing skills since he was 5. When he turned 18, he moved to Russia so that he could hone his skills with some of the best circus performers in the world. Now, besides creating extreme art, the Nairobi resident also wows audiences all over the globe, with his amazing performances.

With this dream fulfilled, Eskil now has his eyes set on the The Burj Dubai for his next 'expression of art'. To read about more about this amazing man, click on Is this extreme art and globalbalancing.com.
