Six-year old Toby likes to help out as much as he can. One of his most favorite chores is to make a beeline for the mail, as soon as it arrives - And, like any self-respecting canine, he chews on it before handing it over, a habit that recently landed the Jack Russell in a slightly 'sticky' situation.

It all happened a few weeks ago when Gill Bird arrived at her home in Lee-on-the-Solent, Hampshire and found Toby unusually silent with jaws shut tight and foam and bubbles coming out of his mouth.

Upon closer examination she realized that Toby's jaw was glued together, with bits of paper stuck all over. Apparently Toby had met his match in that morning's mail - An envelope that he had attacked and chewed vigorously had gotten stuck to his teeth and resulted in clamping his jaw shut!

Much as she tried, Gill could not pry Toby's mouth open - and it was not until the veterinarian sedated him and pulled out the debris tooth by tooth, that the little dog was finally able to open his mouth.

While the veterinarian and Gill had a good laugh, we have a feeling Toby did not find the situation very hilarious - In the future he may just stick to just 'delivering' the morning paper!
