While there are all kinds of medical breakthroughs being announced everyday, researchers have always maintained that the best cure for a lot of our woes is something that is free, fun and easy to learn - Laughter!

In 1995, Indian physician Dr. Madan Kataria, launched the world's first laughter yoga club - A fitness class where yogis combined breathing exercises with uncontrolled laughter in lieu of the Downward-Facing Dog! He maintained that the combination of impulsive laughter and breathing helped stretch muscles and trigger the endorphins that make us happy - This in turn, helps release stress which, is the cause of a lot of our ailments.

There must be something to this theory - For today, there are over 6,000 laughter yoga clubs located in as many countries ranging from Australia to Kenya to the USA. Members get together everyday or at the very minimum twice a week and 'exercise' by simply laughing out loud, waving their hands and making funny faces at each other, to keep the chortling going. Not convinced? Try it with a friend or better still, your entire classroom for a week, and find out for yourself if there is any truth to this theory.
