If you happen to be flying over Abu Dhabi's Al Futaisi Island you may see the name 'HAMAD' etched in bold letters across the sand - No, this is not a new country, but the first name of the island's owner - Sheikh Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan.

The Saudi billionaire recently decided that he would like to have his name scrawled on the sand of the 50 sq.km. resort Island. So, he hired a team of experts from Pakistan and India who dug up the soil and carved out 'HAMAD' in capital letters that measure 1,000 meters high and span a distance of 2 miles. To ensure that the incoming tides do not erode his name, the letters are designed to double up as waterways, which help carry the water inland.

While amazing, this is not the first time the 63-year-old has wowed the world with his eccentric habits. Nicknamed 'Rainbow Sheikh' because of his seven (one for each day) SEL 500 rainbow-colored Mercedes collection, the billionaire is known to live larger than life

His 200+ car collection includes a custom built Dodge Motor Truck that is large enough to house four-bedrooms, a ten bedroom, three story earth-shaped motor home that measures exactly one- millionth the size of our planet and, the world's largest caravan that fits 14 bedrooms and car parking too! Wonder what he will think up of next!
