If you happened to be visiting Detroit's Westland Suburb on Tuesday July 9th, you would have seen witnessed an unbelievable sight - Over 2,000 kids frolicking in a 75-by-150 mud pit while their parents cheered from the sidelines. Welcome to mud day!

An annual tradition since the last 26 years, it is open to kids under the age of 12 (and parents should they be so brave), and includes events like 'Mud Limbo' and wheelbarrow races. And for those participants that go the extra muddy mile for the entire two hours, there is even a chance to win the prestigious titles of 'King' and 'Queen' of mud!
