In this companion to her acclaimed 2005 novel, A Dog's Life, Ann M. Martin tells the parallel stories of a stray dog (the brother of the dog featured in A Dog's Life), a boy dealing with unspeakable loss, and a boy whose most ardent wish is to own a dog―and everything for a dog.

Bone and his sister, Squirrel, are stray dogs born in a shed. Left motherless as puppies, the two dogs survive together for a while, but are soon wrenched apart. Bone doesn't know if his sister is still alive, and must now go on, alone.

Charlie is a boy who has suffered a terrible loss. And, as he's healing with the help of his dog, another tragedy occurs.

Henry's best friend has moved away. All Henry has wanted is a dog of his own. But his parents won't let him.

Bone, Charlie, and Henry live very different lives, but they are fated to intersect in surprising ways. Award-winning author Ann M. Martin has written a powerful, heartfelt novel that's perfect for anyone who has ever longed for a dog, or loved one.

A stray gets separated from his brother he get's brought in a car for a wild ride. ( this is the sequel to A Dogs Life )

This is a book about a boy who just lost his brother and his mom is away for the summer, a boy who lives with a family hating most pets but he loves and has always wanted a dog and his best friend just moved away, and a dog who has a sister that has gone through some rough times. They all come together. I really recommend this book.

Aww, I'm reading A Dog's Life right now.

Everything for a dog is an amazing book and it kind of has a twist to it .It is about a dog who was born in a shed with his sister but once they go venturing out on their own things start to go downhill from there they end up getting lost and separated.Henry is a young boy who has desperately wanted a dog but his father once had one and from there he never ever got one again. But Bone the dog who is now running around homeless,Henry has plans to go and catch him. Read this book to find out the little adventure everyone goes through.

Have you ever longed for a dog? Well so did Henry. Have you ever been lost and couldn’t find your way home? Well so was Bone. Have you ever had someone very close to you die? Well so did Charlie. This is a book where a dog named Bone, a boy named Charlie, and a boy named Henry all tell stories of them selfs as they try to overcome everything they have been through. One of the stories is about a dog named bone. He gets separated from his sister squirl and is just trying to find his sister and get a home. Henry is a boy who all he wants is a dog. His dad won’t let him and he doesn’t know why so when finds a tan puppy in the neighborhood he takes advantage of it. Charlie is a boy who goes through one tragedy after another. If all this sounds interesting then check out everything for a dog by Ann M. Martin. I recemend this book to any one ages 9 and up.

Nice review, @kswarren!

This book was okay it had a good plot, and it was about bone and how he lived his life the brothers die except for her sister. It was a good back i do recommend it

I read the book it is sad it was also awesome I felt bad for buudy. I hoped he would not die and he did not die

This book was good, but I personally think that a dog's life was an better book. Well, here's your review: This book was an book about an dog named Bone who grew up as an stray dog with his mom and sister, Squirrel. One day, his mom never came home (She was most likely dead) and he decided to go and explore the rest of the world. He has many different owners, but some of them don't even know how to take care of a dog, and get mad at him for not knowing what to do. One of the owners don't even feed him! (That may be a different book, not sure.) And.. I forgot the rest..

this book sounds great!!!!
