Civil Rights activists were marching to the state capital in Montgomery Alabama. The world found out about it because "Bloody Sunday" was on a broadcast live on T.V. When the activists got toward the end of their march, state troopers were waiting for them. When they refused to move, fifty got beaten, and ended up in the hospital. Eight days later, the President formed a vote for Civil Rights for blacks. Barrack Obama led the march. People were celebrating the Civil Rights that they had received, in honor of the people who formed the original march. John Lewis now is the U.S. Representative for Georgia's 5th congressional district.
