I love reading books of all genres and this particular book really interests me! The Explorer Academy series sounds fascinating and I would love to read one of its installments. Thank you for your consideration!

girlpower4ever's book review was featured in Izzy Newton and the S.M.A.R.T. Squad: Absolute Hero (Book 1).
A spellbinding tale of adventure, intelligence, friendship, and female empowerment is found in this book, Izzy Newton and the S.M.A.R.T. Squad: Absolute Hero! This short but sweet book follows Izzy Newton, a total STEM nerd entering Atom Middle School along with her best friends Charlie Darwin and Allie Einstein. The problem is, she's placed in the Forensics elective, and it's no secret that Izzy dreads public speaking. Worse even, the middle school's air conditioning and heating system have gone haywire, so the school building is absolutely freezing. Worst of all, Izzy's ex-best friend Marie Curie is back in town, and she's attending the same middle school! With everything going on in her life, it seems impossible to keep on top of things. Can Izzy solve the mystery of the school's rambunctious temperature, master the art of public speaking, and win an old friend back? Personally, I loved reading about Izzy's adventures and particular emotions and thoughts. This book is unique in the sense that it's not about the "trivial" factors of middle school, such as romance or petty drama, as many books often are—instead, the main focus is on five young, strong-willed girls set on improving the environment around them. This story is a perfect fit for any girl looking for a read that is out of the box, empowering, and an undeniably relatable telling of the middle school experience.

This book is perfect for fans of thrills, chills, and a little bit of magic! Dan Gutman perfectly combines real historical events with a shimmering fictional world to tell the thrilling story of Houdini and Me. The book follows young Harry Mancini, who lives in the house once owned by Harry Houdini, the most famous magician and escape artist of all time. Harry Mancini is somewhat of a local celebrity for living where Houdini once did, but that's about it—that is, until someone tries to communicate with him through an old flip phone, claiming to be the spirit of Harry Houdini himself! Intrigued but not convinced, Harry Mancini decides to ask the person a series of questions only Houdini would know the answer to. And yet, to his surprise, the mysterious texter answers accurately and believably. Could Harry Mancini really be communicating with the spirit of one of the most famous entertainers of the 1900s? At first, he looks forward to his conversations with Houdini eagerly. But as time goes on, Harry Mancini realizes that there was only one thing Houdini could not escape from: death. Houdini has already proved that he can reincarnate into the 21st century by swapping places with Harry Mancini. So what if Houdini decides that he'd like to swap places...forever? Once again, Dan Gutman brings forth relatable characters, slapstick humor, and quick-wit storytelling to tell a fascinating story. As a person who grew up reading his My Weird School series, it was nostalgic and undeniably refreshing to read another work of his. You won't regret reading this up and coming masterpiece! (Book was sent to me by DOGO for purpose of review.)

girlpower4ever's book review was featured in Animal Farm.
What starts out as a children's story soon spirals into an almost exact replica of the Russian Revolution, expertly told through the words of George Orwell. The novel follows the adventures of the animals on a farm, tired and resentful of the treatment they've received from humans. After a carefully-planned attack, they overthrow the humans and have the farm all to themselves, which is a joyous event--at least at first. Because every new beginning means new hardships. Are the animals really better than the humans, or do they find themselves succumbing to the same level of tyranny they once rebelled against? Once again, George Orwell brings up serious topics through entertaining, suspenseful satire. This magnificently-written novel is a must-read.
