Warning, this review contains spoilers: My sister recommended this series to me...and I have to admit, Warriors: Into the Wild is an amazing book. The characters are very strong and brave, the plot is intense, and the author clearly put a lot of work into writing this book. Sometimes, my friends laugh at me for reading this series, and say these books are for younger kids, but I think anyone can read it, as long as they’re not bothered by a little violence or blood. Right now, I am on the third Warriors arc, Power of Three, and I love it! Everyone should read these books—they’re awesome, thrilling, and will have you tearing through the pages in anticipation.
One of my favorite characters was Firepaw, because of his courageous and compassionate personality....he makes a great protagonist, and a very relatable character. I love how he always looks out for other cats, but is eager to become a warrior, despite the hardships he faces. He is actually a lot like me, so I really enjoyed reading about him.
Another great character is Bluestar. She is a strong and stoic leader who always has a cool head, even in terrible situations—like when ShadowClan attacked ThunderClan’s camp. She is a good role model for everyone who reads this book, and her personality is amazing.
I was even able to relate to the villains in the book, like Tigerclaw, because Erin Hunter writes so well that even the evil characters seem to have a good reason for what they do. Despite his vengeful personality, and his mistreatment of Yellowfang, I could almost see things through his point of view, and why he might think that he should’ve been leader of ThunderClan instead of Bluestar.
But my absolute FAVORITE character—the cat I enjoyed most, rooted for throughout the book, and even made a fan fiction about—is Yellowfang. She’s awesome, hilarious, and (in my opinion) the best medicine cat in the whole Warrior Cats series! Her wise but slightly cranky personality make her a relatable protagonist, because we’re all cranky or moody sometimes. Once again, Erin Hunter has created some great characters whom, like I said before, are all amazing. Overall, I absolutely loved this book, and rate it 5 stars. I am guaranteeing that you will also like Warriors: Into the Wild, as well as the next books in this series. -123blue
