1.Researchers have long suspected that hippos evolved from a family of plant-eating, semi-aquatic mammals called anthracotheres. Researchers could never verify the theory since the only fossils of ancient hippos discovered thus far, dated back just 15 million years. 2. Finding a fossil made them look for more. The teeth serve as a kind of fingerprint for the species, enabling paleontologists to connect ancient creatures to their modern-day relatives. 3. Up to 220 pounds. The hippo.

People are coming to the State park because people are trying to catch a glimpse of the new albeit temporary attractions, which is an ice volcano and two frozen waterfalls. 2. The volcano was created by the result of water from the park's 50-foot tall pressure-fed fountain freezing in its tracks, due to the record low temperatures the area has experienced this year. 3. What happened to the water falls was it froze so it looks like carved snow sculptures.

German settlers started the tradition. Phil is 128 years old. Some other names for groundhogs are woodchucks, land beavers or whistle pigs.
