The people of Selma organized the march of 1965 to get their civil rights. They were planning to go through the whole downtown Selma when troopers stopped them at the end of the Edmund Pettus Bridge. At the end of the bridge the activist were sprayed with tear gas, and they were abused by troopers. While all of this was happening it was being broadcasted live on tv. Five months later President Johnson allowed black people to vote. People were celebrating on March 8th, 2015 the 50th anniversary of Bloody Sunday and President Obama was leading the crowd with George Bush and his wife Laura, as well as a couple civil rights leaders. John Lewis is now a U.S represenative.
we celebrate presidents day in honor of all of our presidents and all of their accomplishments. before 1968 Americans celebrated George Washington's birthday, and Abraham Lincolns Birthday. Americans no longer celebrated the two presidents birthdays, instead they celebrated Presidents Day!

super bowl Sunday is a day in which the best football teams in america play against each other for a medal.To most Americans the Superbowl is about getting together and eating lots of food. The most popular snacks are chips, peanuts guacamole, and tortilla chips. The topping of choice is pepperoni. Americans spend about eleven billion dollars. The day after super bowl Sunday Americans will feel sick and will not go to work.
