Award-winning author, Sharon G. Flake, presents a powerful novel about a teen boy and girl, each tackling disabilities.

Autumn and Adonis have nothing in common and everything in common. Autumn is outgoing and has lots of friends. Adonis is shy and not so eager to connect with people. But even with their differences, the two have one thing in common--they're each dealing with a handicap. For Autumn, who has a learning disability, reading is a painful struggle that makes it hard to focus in class. But as her school’s most aggressive team wrestler, Autumn can take down any problem. Adonis is confined to a wheelchair. He has no legs. He can't walk or dance. But he’s a strong reader who loves books. Even so, Adonis has a secret he knows someone like Autumn can heal.

In time, Autumn and Adonis are forced to see that our greatest weaknesses can turn into the assets that forever change us and those we love.

Told in alternating voices, Pinned explores issues of self-discovery, friendship, and what it means to be different.

The book pinned took me and other readers on a journey through the weird and chaotic love life of Autumn and Adonis. While Adonis is uptight and a brilliant student, Autumn is a outgoing and quirky, and enjoys wrestling rather than her education. The thing that I love most about this book is that each chapter title is Autumn, Adonis, Autumn, Adonis and so on. This book is in first person so it is like these two characters are talking to us about everything which is cool to hear. Also, I can understand things from Autumn's perspectives and then I get to understand things from Adonis later on. If I were to rate this book, I would rate it as a 10/10!

the book pinned captured me right away into the word of a ninth grader with ADHD and a ninth grader who had no legs, this book made me think how different but same you can be, Sharon G flakes writing painted a picture in my mind right away based on setting, character, and love, the book pinned was emotional about love and hate, and about these two main characters lives this book pulled me into a world of imagination and i would recommend it to anyone who loves drama, hope, and sincerity. this book was a must read for me and my friends, it was amazing to talk about and even more amazing to write about, i give this book a 5/5 and i hope you do to!

Sharon G. Flake, the author of Pinned made me laugh as she took me on a journey through the early stages of young relationship that will change a reader’s perspective of love in a whole new way. The main characters, Autumn and Adonis, take us through the early stages of their love life. “ He ride to school in a van with eight other kids. I watch the driver lower the lift. Down come a boy in a wheelchair that got a tray attached to it. His arms frozen in place. His head wobbles, like there ain’t no banes in his neck.” This is one of my favorite lines from the book. It truly expresses what Flake can do with a simple moment in time. If you are looking for an amazing book I think that you should really try reading this book.
