"I bought the milk," said my father. "I walked out of the corner shop, and heard a noise like this: t h u m m t h u m m. I looked up and saw a huge silver disc hovering in the air above Marshall Road."

"Hullo," I said to myself. "That's not something you see every day. And then something odd happened."

Find out just how odd things get in this hilarious New York Times bestselling story of time travel and breakfast cereal, expertly told by Newbery Medalist and bestselling author Neil Gaiman and illustrated by Skottie Young.

Fortunately, the Milk is a very inspiring book. It is about a boy who doesn't have milk so the dad goes to the shop and took so long and got home and told an excuse that is very imaginative.

This book is very silly. It's about a daughter, son and a dad who who are left alone after the mother goes on a business trip. with the last of their milk they make hot chocolate to make up for missing mom. In the morning they decide to make breakfast cereal and they don't have any milk. so the dad goes to store and a big adventure begins!

A story can be found in every moment, step, and nook & cranny in life. Even a quick trip out for milk can turn into an adventure. Especially with Neil Gaiman around! The man has once again stolen my heart, giggles, and smile with a nonstop, swashbuckling spin through time and space with pirates, aliens, and wumpires. Come on, let go, and allow your imagination to wander around in Neil Gaiman’s head for a bit.

So far this book has a stegosaurus, tribe people, and a god named Splod. And you can't forget about the ewwy, gooey, yucky little green aliens. A father meets all of these "things" going to get... milk!

The story is about a dad who took so long to go get milk and who told the kids. I do not think he told the real story. I think the dad has a wild imagination but why was he gone so long?

This was a wonderful book. I loved the funny stories the dad made up about why he took so long to bring home the milk. Kids will love this book!

In Fortunately, the Milk I thought the book was good because it has lots of adventures. I liked the professor a lot because he was really funny!

I really enjoyed unforchantly the milk. I really like the part when he jumps out of the exit door it was really funny and I also like when there are two dads.

It is a good book full of lots of adventure. The dad is really funny. I read the book with my class. The dad says that the reason he took so long buying the kids milk is that he did all these awesome things. I think this book is really funny.

It was a real unexpected story with a LOT of surprises, and that is EXACTLY why friends and I love it! A story about plain old breakfast cereal with a little bit of time travel makes it the best!
