The #1 New York Times bestseller that James Dashner called “fantastic,” with “relentless” suspense and an “explosive” climax from Brandon Sanderson, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Words of Radiance, coauthor of Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time series, and creator of the internationally bestselling Mistborn trilogy. And don’t miss the rest of the Reckoners series: Firefight and Calamity!
Ten years ago, Calamity came. It was a burst in the sky that gave ordinary people extraordinary powers. The awed public started calling them Epics.
Epics are no friends of man. With incredible gifts came the desire to rule. And to rule man, you must crush his will.
Now, in what was once Chicago, an astonishingly powerful Epic named Steelheart has installed himself as emperor. Steelheart possesses the strength of ten men and can control the elements. It is said that no bullet can harm him, no sword can split his skin, and no fire can burn him. He is invincible. Nobody fights back . . . nobody but the Reckoners.
A shadowy group of ordinary humans, the Reckoners spend their lives studying Epics, finding their weaknesses, and then assassinating them. And David wants in.
When Steelheart came to Chicago, he killed David’s father. For years, like the Reckoners, David has been studying, and planning, and he has something they need. Not an object, but an experience.
   He has seen Steelheart bleed.
   And he wants revenge.

Steelheart is the first magnificent book in the Reckoners series, and it's a must read for those who love adventure. When David's dad gets killed by an Epic, David goes on a mission to kill Steelheart, the murderer, back. To do this, he must join forces with the Reckoners, a group of ordinary people, or so he thinks, who are out to kill the powerful epic from ruining any more lives. And David might be what they need. On his journey to defeat Steelheart, David finds love, betrayals, and shocking truths that can change the way he looks at his mission forever. The group may not be perfect, but David only has one goal: To kill Steelheart and avenge his father. Can he look behind his past and his friends worries, or will he give in to Steelhearts powers and never achieve his goal? I loved this book, and I give it four stars for the amazing content. I recommend this book for ages 12 and up, and I hope you guys like this review and book!

I love it and can't put it down. It is a must read.

I am still reading it, but I cant put it down. Full of suspense, action, and a bit of mystery, this is definitely a favorite.

I'll give it four stars, interesting plot, fulfilling character, but as many books I have read, you can see the plot coming. Besides that this is probably top 5 Sci-fi books I've read

This was the best, It's an action packed, Exciting and sad at times. It gives you a lot to think about when you read, As well as giving you a wanting to read the next book, Firefight. I would save it for when you are above ten though. Anyways overall this is one of the best books ever.

Steelheart is one of my favorite books, and one of the best books I've read. David is a funny, relatable, and brave character, and a great protagonist. I can't wait for Calamity, the third book in the series, to come out in Spring of 2016. I miss the Reckoners and David, and his amazingly awful metaphors (actually similes)!

This was a really good book where david is in a city that is full of epics and he joins the reckoners who take down epics on a plan to destroy steelheart.
