YES! Team Maxon won! So looking forward to seeing their lovely daughter Eadlyn in the next book!

this book completely broke my heart, and put it back together again. finally the last of america's time as one of the selected! but i fell in love with this quote: “Break my heart. Break it a thousand times if you like. It was only ever yours to break anyway.” like wow.

America Singer was having trouble deciding between her first love Aspen, As the competition goes on, she realizes that she still has competitors for Maxon. When she realizes her heart belongs with Maxon, it's too late. However, on the day he gets married, the rebels attack. This makes Maxon realize his heart belongs with America, not Kriss. This book was really good, I rate it 5/5, and recommend it to people who like the Hunger Games series, or like dystopian and utopian novels.

The final novel starring main protagonist America Singer in the bestselling series "The Selection" does not disappoint. America is now fully immersed in trying to earn Prince Maxon's trust - and love - back. As they dance and fight and kiss, America and Maxon's relationship becomes more complicated than ever. On top of their romantic trials, the Illéan rebels are dissenting from right under King Clarkson's nose. Clarkson's attempts at calming the dissent and the rebels' attempts at forging relations with Maxon catapult America and Maxon further apart, but perhaps even closer together. Lines blur as right and wrong become unclear...but in the end, love will prevail.

Imagine being whisked away to a beautiful castle with a charming prince to compete for. Wouldn’t you just love it? Well for 16-year-old girl America Singer, this is not the case. In the book The Selection and The Elite by Kiera Cass, you find out how America Singer adjusts her daily life, as she is brought to the palace. In The One by Kiera Cass, America(the protagonist AND narrator of this story) faces challenges beyond extreme. She is faced with danger, the fear of falling in love and many more challenges. The setting takes place after the 4th world war. The book never actually states the year. What used to be the United States, reborn out of the ashes is now called Illéa(for clearer ways of seeing it illéa). The antagonist(s) of the story are the Rebels. There are two groups. Northern and Southern. The Northern group only wants to get a story. The Southern group, on the other hand, wants the monarchy to end, AND they are way more lethal than the Northern group. America faces challenges like running from the Southern Rebels. Trying not to get killed by them. She also faces love challenges. She had a secret boyfriend back in Carolina. Now she’s in Angeles and her heart is somewhere else. The boy who broke up with her(Aspen) still loves her and wants her. America wants Maxon(the prince). America’s big “memory moment” is when she and Aspen(well they actually share the moment). America had just gotten shot in the arm. She is going to be okay, but they have to clean it up fast without anyone knowing. So, Aspen takes Maxon(he was trying to protect America), America, and one other guard who was in the situation, down to his room, since he knows no one will think to find them here. They start cleaning her wound and Aspen sees the note America left for her when they were still together. Maxon sees it too. Of course, Aspen can’t tell Maxon that the note was from America because America was competing for Maxons’ heart. Maxon looks at the note and saddens. He says he wishes that he had a person who loved him like that. Aspen nods and says “she was great. I loved and still love her to this day”. Right then and there America and Aspen both remember what it was like to have their relationship. America remembers the time where they used to hide out past curfew in a treehouse. Still, America’s heart belonged to Maxon...I would recommend this book to people in 7th grade and up. You would want to read the first two books first. (in order) The Selection and The Elite. The One is the last book of the trilogy. Though Kiera Cass has many other books like this and even has one where America’s daughter has a selection of her own.

this book was a great way to round out Americas story. I loved this book and you need to read it!

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS!!!!! In the third book of the Selection series things really heat up. Towards the start of the One two Northern Rebels, August and Georgia, come to visit Maxon and America. During the meeting, the rebels told Maxon that they could help get rid of the Southern Rebels. They also say that they would like Maxon to try and eliminate the castes. The rebels and America and Maxon get along fairly well and part ways with a new ally. Also, in the third book America finally starts to make friends with the rest of the Elite. Anyways, America soon faces yet another challenge called the Conviction. During the Conviction each of the Elite are supposed to help sentence criminals, but America doesn't see this as fair. While she thinks there should be justice, she also doesn't agree with the man she is punishing's sentence time. He was supposed to go to jail for life for stealing clothes for his daughters. Since America sees this as unjust she gives the man the super expensive earrings and bracelet Maxon gave her, and the bird necklace her dad gave her to pay for his crimes to the King. This makes the King hate her even more. A little later in this masterpiece book America and Maxon decide that they need to speak to August and Georgia again. With a little help from Aspen the couple gets to talk to the rebel leaders, and on their way of leaving they get attacked by the Southern Rebels. America gets shot and Maxon helps her escape into the streets alone. She runs into an alley way cradling her wounded arm and meets an eight named Paige. Paige stays with America until Maxon soon arrives. America then asks Maxon if Paige can come work at the palace for helping her and the Prince agrees to it. Paige was very happy to be off the streets and into a much safer place. Then, right before Christmas the book takes an extremely sad turn. (EXTREME SPOILER COMING UP!!!!!!!!!) America's father dies of a heart attack. While America travels home to mourn her Dad, Maxon sends both Celeste and Elise home to narrow the Selection down to Kriss and America. After returning to the palace she and Maxon have a very intimate night together and the Prince tells her he is going to choose her. Then when she was trying to tell Aspen that she and him are officially over Maxon catches her touching his chest. She meant the touch as a sort of push to emphasize what she is saying to him. However, Maxon thinks she is with Aspen and tells her that he will now choose Kriss. Finally, in the end the Southerners attack and Maxon gets shot in the chest protecting America. He realizes that he loves her and that he is willing to die for her. So finally after the attack ends, Maxon is okay, and proposes to her as the new King (both his Mother and Father died) . America says yes and she and Maxon were married. I loved this book and highly recommend it to 7th graders and up. Kiera Cass is an amazing author. You NEED to read the One.

WOW! That pretty much covers it! This book is definitely a mood changer. Going from America feeling bliss to her being so confused and alone! it all ends well, sort-of. Bitter-sweet ending.
