The next time you hail one of the 1,300 cabs in New York city, cross your fingers that it's the Cash Cab - For it could make you a star! That's because the taxi is the setting for a Discovery Channel mobile quiz television show, aired under the same name.

As soon as customers get into the otherwise normal-looking cab, they are greeted with flashing lights inviting them to become participants of Cash Cab! If they agree, the taxi driver, who happens to be veteran television star, Ben Bailey will explain the rules.

While being driven to their destination, he asks some general knowledge questions. For every right answer, the customer earns between $25 - $100 USD. If stumped on a question, they are allowed two lifelines, where they can ask someone they know or any stranger on the street.

The catch? If during the entire time, the customer gets three questions wrong, they will be tossed out of the cab and have to find alternate transportation.

The entirely spontaneous setting makes for a great television show that is aired daily on Discovery Channel from 9 -10.30 in the morning and again from 5 - 6.30 in the evening. The episodes can also be viewed on the company's website at discovery.com/videos/cash-cab.
