When Ying Ying walked up on the stage at a recent audition for the Amazing Chinese Show, the judges were not sure what to expect. After all, she is just five-years-old. So you can only imagine their surprise when the poised girl began showcasing her unique "hypnotizing" skills on some unsuspecting animals.
The audience watched in awe as Ying Ying systematically put a lizard, dog, frog, chicken, and rabbit, to sleep with her soothing touch and voice. Though the chicken was fussy, and the frog and dog did need additional cajoling, by the time she was done, all the animals were sleeping soundly! Of course like every good hypnotist, Ying Ying knew exactly what to do to get them out of their trance.

Experts say that what Ying Ying is doing is not hypnotism, but a natural animal reflex. Called "tonic immobility" or "apparent death," it is a defense mechanism used by many species when they feel physically restrained. Ying Ying discovered her natural talent a year ago when she accidentally "hypnotized" a frog in her kindergarten class. She has not stopped since!

- animereina2021over 3 yearsI know how to do that to young baby chicks!!! You just hold them gently and cup your hands so that their stomach is up, then you slowly pet it with two fingers, and then it might go to sleep! The thing is though, you have to hold it first for a while so the chick can get used to you before doing any of the steps, just so it will not freak out... And also make sure to hold it tight, but no too tight. Just right enough so that it doesn't fall out of your hands.
