Sydney, Australia

Thanks to its location, Australia is one of the first continents to welcome the New Year and the fireworks at the iconic Sydney Harbor are known to be some the best and biggest in the world. This year, the city took the spectacular show online with a Smart phone app and even, a downloadable theme song. A first of its kind digital radio broadcast of the party ensured that the visually impaired could also join in the fun.

Hong Kong, China

Hundreds of thousands of partygoers gathered at Hong Kong's Victoria Harbor to watch a spectacular display of fireworks that emanated from the top of the city's ten most famous buildings.

London, England

More than 250,000 people gathered on the banks of the River Thames in London, to watch an extraordinary display of lights and sounds shooting out from the city's Giant Ferris Wheel - the London Eye.

Dubai, UAE

In Dubai, the firework display reached new heights literally, as the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa was lit up, with a spectacular ten-minute laser and fireworks display, bringing gasps of delight from the over half-million spectators that had gathered to watch.

New York, USA

In New York, over one million people gathered at Times Square to witness the world famous crystal ball drop and the spectacular firework display that followed. This year, the 5.4 ton ball that is adorned with 2,688 crystal triangles was set in motion by pop diva, Lady Gaga!
