Have you ever imagined being an illegal third child? In addition to being an illegal child you have to learn how to blend in with new surrounding. Well the book Among the Imposters by Margaret Peterson Haddix shows just that. “Among the Imposters” is the second book in a series called Shadow Children. Luke Garner or should I say Lee Grant, all of his life he’s been hiding avoiding the population police. Population police are officers who encourage the law of illegal third children to help population levels decrease. They also invade people’s homes searching for exneys (illegal thrid children), executing the third children when they figure that they are actually third children. Luke was sent to the school of Hendricks with a fake I.D playing the role of a boy named Lee Grant. Hendricks School of Boys is a windowless school with brutal students who disrespect Luke, and the teachers are absolutely oblivious. One day Luke discovers a door that leads outside. Will Luke discover what lies outside of the Hendricks school? Will his question unfold? You have to read Among the Imposters to find out. I recommend this book or series for people in 5-8 grade who enjoy exciting thrillers because I feel that this has a pretty deep content. I also feel they might not understand the meaning, and purpose of the book or series. I hope you enjoy reading this book as much as I did.

What would you do if you had to evacuate your home? The book I am reading is Between Two Skies,The way the author wrote this book, Between Two Skies, was just amazing. Some were cliffhangers, because you wanted to know what was next. The setting was in Bayou Perdu Louisiana and new orleans, the time period is August 23-31 2005, this hurricane was a category 5 the hardest most powerful a hurricane can get, the name of this hurricane was hurricane Katrina. The protagonist is grandma, in this book is concerned because of the hurricane she tells everyone we should leave… but they end up leaving the next because it was Evangeline’s birthday. The antagonists, Evangeline’s friend is struggling because she has a choice to make because the hurricane is coming and Evangeline is telling her to leave but she is really hurting herself because she knows everyone is evacuating except for her. One of the problems is that they don’t have a lot of money and the are going to have to rent for quite some time because of what the hurricane did to their town and their house. Another problem is that all the house in the town of where they live it is 8 feet under water. I recommend this book to a reader who likes to read a little bit of sad and a little happy, overall this book is great for someone in the 7th-8th grade.

What would you do if you lost the only family member you had? What would you do if you found out your mother didn't want you? You’ll have to read T hree Pennies By:Melanie Crowde r to find out more. Marin is a foster child that has gone from home to home, the couple of things she takes with her from home to home are her Three pennies, Her small copy of the I Ching and her piggy bank with a single dime inside. She's been trying to find her mother her whole life, she has one last chance before she loses her forever. One of the only memories of her mother is laying the grass on her blanket and her mother's head blocking the sun for hitting her head. Marin travels from foster home to foster home before possibly finding her forever home. This book will put you on the edge of your seat! Poor Marin was put into the foster system when she was just four because her mother abandoned her. Her mother is the antagonist in this story. How would you feel if your parent abandoned you when you were just four and still hasn't made an effort to see you in seven years. I’d recommend this book to 6-8 graders, it's a very sensitive topic and kids that are younger might not understand the things marin goes through like, Bouncing from foster home to foster home and not having a mother.
