Carter and Sadie Kane haven't been the same since their mother's death. Carter travels the world with their dad Julius Kane, and Sadie lives in London with her grandparents. Everything changes when Julius takes them to a museum on their one of two days annual meet. He sets free the Egyptian god Set, who banishes him and forces the siblings to run. After, they find out that the world of Egyptian gods are awakening, and the worst of them, Set is after them and domination of the rest of the world. Carter and Sadie must go on an epic quest to stop him, but also find out many secrets about them and their family. I connected to this book because I related how it was to see a distant family member after some years. I give this book 5 stars because the story plot is tremendous, and the timeline and the character traits all fit in well together.

In the 1841, Manjiro and his friends are out fishing in Japan, but a huge storm comes by! They get stuck on an island, and things seem bleak for them. Awhile later, an American ship comes and saves them! They are taken to Hawaii and they can't understand English, or know where they come from. Manjiro leaves to go to America with the captain, but his friends stay behind. He meets friends, has some confrontations, and takes responsibility for his life, but in all is still very homesick. Will he ever get home? Read Heart of a Samurai to find out. I connected to this book, because I understand how Manjiro felt when he felt homesick and wanted to go back to Japan. I rate this book 5 stars because it gives you the dates of every new chapter, and the development and story line is enticing and hard to put down.

I gave this book a 4-star rating because I loved the life lesson but it was not the best I've read. I connect with the book because Helen and I both have an annoying younger brother. This book is about Penny, an adult with terrible habits. She just lost her job, AND her apartment. Her friend lets her borrow her storage area, where she lives now. But maybe she CAN become a responsible grown-up! She could find a job with good pay, find a cute boy (maybe that guy at the community center), and stop her terrible habits! Easy, right? Well, its not as hard as it seems. Will her plan work out? You'll have to read the book to find out!

I read this book in a jiffy and it was actually pretty decent. I bonded with this book because bad things have happened to me multiple times. Like Geronimo was having all these bad things occur to him. First it was listening to his cousin about booking a vacation in a sketchy spot. Next it was Geronimo going to the hotel and it being awful (the worst room he had ever seen). Lastly it was Geronimo getting fooled by his cousin and worker that made all the money off of Geronimo. Anyway was a chaotic vacation when Geronimo should've been relaxing!

Take a Bow is about friends who have to overcome many difficulties. They have a lot of trouble with a so called "friend" who uses Emme. They have a lot of trouble understanding everything about who they are or about what they are supposed to be. They always are playing music, but behind their smiles at the gigs, they have other small problems with "friends", school, and life. I really enjoyed this book because it was an inspiration and a really interesting book to read. I rated this book five stars because of this and much more.

Shelby's Story is about a little dog who went from being trapped in a yard, to escaping and free. She left the yard and spent weeks on the street with one of her siblings. She finds herself in a tight space when her sibling is caught and a few weeks later so is Shelby. She is adopted by a trainer/filmmaker and trained to become a movie star. She films the movie and goes back to her new home. This book was remarkable. I rated it 5 stars for all of its life lessons.
