This book is about all different famous athletes, the true tale of their childhood. Like how Gabby Douglas first learned to deal with bullies, how Yao Ming grew up thinking that he was too tall to fit through a doorway, or how legendary hockey player Bobby Orr grew up picking worms on a farm. It is really interesting how your reading all about famous athletes my age.

This book is about a girl named Emma. Emma is a princess but was turned into a frog after she kissed a frog named Eadric. Eadric was turned into a frog by a witch and can only turn back to a human when a real princess kissed him. When Emma kissed Eadric, she was wearing a bracelet that her aunt Grassina gave her (Emma’s aunt Grassina is a witch, but a nice one). Eadric was supposed to turn back to a human but Emma’s bracelet reverses any spell a witch casts on Emma so the witch would find the spell bouncing back to the witch. Instead of Eadric turning back into human form, Emma turned into a frog. It is an amazing story with lots of curios adventures.

This is one of my favorite Roald Dahl books. In here Roald explains a story about a giant called the BFG (big friendly giant), and as you might think, the BFG is a friendly giant. The BFG is a giant that blows nice dreams into children’s bedroom windows. Unlike the BFG the other giants are nasty as the BFG was good. Every night the other giants gallop off to different countries and eat poor little children from their beds. Of course the BFG didn’t like the other giants one bit. One day, the BFG heard a little girl’s (Sophie) heart pounding. The BFG had really good hearing. So he snatched Sophie from her bed. I know, it sounds astonishing how a friendly giant would do that. Well here is why, no child/human bean was allowed to know about giants. The BFG took Sophie to the giant country so she (Sophie) won’t tell other people about the giants. Here Sophie and her friend the BFG solve the problem of those big nasty giants.

This book is a book about two girls, Ivy and Bean who weren’t friends but became friends just by casting a spell on Nancy, Bean’s sister. This was how it began. For days Bean’s mother has been telling Bean that she should play with the new girl Ivy across from the street. For days and days, Bean has been saying no. One day, Bean decided to bug Nancy. She planned a trick. Instead of Nancy freaking out, Bean got into trouble. She ran away so she wouldn’t get in trouble. She was right in front of Ivy’s house. “Hide.” Ivy said. Bean forgot that Ivy was watching everything. Ivy took Bean to somewhere to hide. Later Ivy and Bean agreed to cast a dancing spell on Nancy. Ivy was learning how to become a witch, she also wanted to be one when she grew up. Afterwards, they realized that they had fun together so they became friends at last.
