Do you like action and drama? Then The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is the book for you. This book tells about a 16 year old girl named Katniss Everdeen and her life living in the corrupt country of Panem in the distant corrupt future. There are 12 districts total in Panem, in which Katniss lives in the 12th and poorest. People in district 12 struggle don't live a very happy life, as buying food increases the odds of being entered in the Hunger Games. Every year, a cruel sport is held called the Hunger Games is held by the dictator government of the Capitol, in which 24 kids, or tributes, age 12-18 are picked from every district (1 male, 1 female per district) to be put in a large arena to fight to the death. The last man standing is then declared the winner and retires to a life of leisure. This is the basis of the entire book, as Katniss is one of those tributes that was chosen from her district. Katniss then has to fight for her life in a bloodbath of teenagers that are trained killers. Katniss hadn't had a great life before either, because she was largely responsible for feeding her family at all costs. This was often through hunting illegally and selling game on the black market. The Hunger Games is a great book because it has an even distribution of action, edge-of-your seat plot lines, and drama.

Warning ahead is spoilers for book 2! Isn't it horrible when you're left standing with only two friends up against a monster that they cannot see? Well that's how Ransom Riggs left us in Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar children:Hollow city. I just finished the third installment of the miss Peregrine's trilogy and it was better than the other two I have to say! This book by Ransom Riggs is called Miss Peregrine's home for peculiar children:Library of souls. This story wraps up the whole series greatly! The setting takes place back in what we know of in the book as a London train station and makes its way through London to a place where the weights hide out and introduces us to new places and new characters greatly! The protagonist Jacob,Emma, and Addison are right where we left off, trying to escape a hollow one of the many antagonists. They try to save their friends from the wights hands not knowing what's been happening to them and trying to destroy the whole wight empire at its base, that's a lot of pressure for two kids and a talking dog! When Jacob and Emma and Addison attempt to cross and save their friends they run into a couple problems, which if you read you will find out what they are. I really loved this book and it's ending to it's a really. If recommend if you've read the other two books or would like to start!

The Heartbreak Messenger by Alexander Vance: If breaking up is so hard, why not pay someone to do it for you. That's what the trailer for the heartbreak Messenger says. The heartbreak messenger is a great book with drama and a lot of break ups. Quintin didn't ever try to be the heartbreak messenger, he was just sitting at his best friend Rob's house when Rob's big brother mentioned wanting to break up with his girlfriend. At first Quintin thought it was nothing until Rob's brother mentioned paying one of them to do it. Without thinking Quintin agreed to do it. After it was done Rob's brother told his friends and then it started Quintin was the heartbreak messenger. He charged 20 dollar for a break up 50 if you want to give them chocolates and flowers. The antagonist is Abby his best friend because she wants him to stop being the heartbreak messenger. Quintin is the protagonist. One conflict is Abby gets a boyfriend named Justin, and another one is Justin wants to break up with Abby. What will he do? Find out in the book. I really liked this book and would recommend it to all people who love a good book filled with drama. I hope of you read you will love it as much as I did.

How many traits do you have? What would you do if you weren't allowed to have more than one? Divergent by Veronica Roth is a very exciting book because people are only allowed to have one of these traits: selflessness, intelligence, honesty, peace, or courage. This book is set in Chicago, and in the future. People who have these traits were divided into factions. Abnegation is selflessness, Erudite is intelligence, Candor is honesty, Amity is peace, and Dauntless is courage. The protagonist, Beatrice Prior, was born into Abnegation. During her aptitude test, the test that shows which faction you should join, she shows equal aptitude for Erudite, Abnegation, and Dauntless. People like this are called Divergent, and they are considered dangerous. This is one of the conflicts in this book. Beatrice chooses Dauntless and becomes an initiate, and this is how she tries to resolve the conflict. Jeanine, the leader of Erudite and the antagonist, has an evil plan that involves Dauntless and Abnegation. That's another conflict. I loved this book because I love books that have a dystopian future, and I would recommend the book to anyone who loves books set in the future.

Artemis Fowl is a genius. He's outsmarted and befriended an entire race of elves and dwarves, assisted in stopping the goblin rebellion, foiled the Russian mafia, and saved his presumably dead father. He is now only 14. But when Artemis discovers he is not the only teenager with knowledge of the fairy races, he must once again team up with former LEP captain Holly Short, and travel through time and space to stop this teen from exposing the secrets of Magic, and prevent the invasion of a species that's been gone 10,000 years. And it's comes down to one question: who is the real enemy? In the fifth installment of the Artemis Fowl series, written by Eoin Colfer, we are once again introduced to new characters, both funny, scary, and sad. One of the best parts of this series is how the author gives us a new way to look at things, unveiling some of the "truth" about Earth's history. This book is definitely one to read, but of course I recommend the first four books as well.
