Have you ever wondered what it is like to be a 10 year old girl who can’t talk? If you have then read this book called Out of My Mind to experience a young girl’s story on how she struggled to be like a normal kid. Melody is a 10 year old girl who can’t talk, this story is about how she found a way to be just like a normal girl. I loved this book because it was a very inspiring story that sent out a message to never give up, Melody is one example of that statement. Melody found a device that could help her talk. She was finally like a normal kid. This book has a lot of different emotions such as happy, sad, and mad. Melody feels all of those emotions throughout the book. This book is a real page turner once you get to at least the second chapter. Melody and her long journey will leave you wanting more. I enjoyed the book because of how detailed the writer of this book got with all of her struggles. Some of the main characters are Melody, mom, dad, and babysitter. My age recommendation for this book is around 10+ unless you can handle more mature books. If you like sad, happy and sometimes heartbreaking stories then you will love this book. Go check this book out!

When Carley moves in with her new foster family, the Murphys, her life is completely changed. Carley is used to bad, abusive parents who do not care for her opinions, but with the her new family, she realizes what a healthy, balanced household can be like. At first, Carley thinks she will never fit in with her new family's perfect life. She refuses to be kind with them and wants to escape. But all along, Mrs. Murphy will not let her go and is open to Carley's attitude. Soon enough, Carley softens up so much to the Murphy family that she never wants to go back to her old life. Soon, Carley's mother wants Carley to live with her again, and Carley has to make the biggest decision of her life. Whatever her decision may be, she knows that no matter what, the Murphys will stay in her heart forever. I highly recommend this book to a variety of audiences and give it 5 stars!
