This looks like a book that I could read to my little sister before she goes to bed. She would love it.

Ever since her best friend drowned on vacation, Suzy has never been the same. She has stopped speaking completely, and has no friends. She's even convinced that her friend was stung by a rare, invisible jellyfish, the Irukandji. Determined to find a doctor who can prove that her friend was stung, Suzy sets off on a rollercoaster if emotions: fear, sadness, nervousness, excitement. Ali Benjamin writes an "achingly heartfelt debut" about a girl , who is going through the tough stage of adolescence, all while finding herself in the process. This book was so good, I literally could not put it down.

Chinese, Japanese, Korean? Which is it? This question frustrates Chloe Cho, the only Korean at her school. Or better yet, in her lonely town. Her parents won't tell her anything about their past, and her classmates think she's some sort of alien. When her parents finally tell her their family's secret, it shocks Chloe and makes her wonder, "What IS normal around here?"

Raina is a rising teenager with the same problems as everyone else: Boys, makeup, popularity, etc. But a tragic fall that damages her teeth can turn her everyday, normal life into "a long and frustrating journey" of braces, retainers, surgery, and more. And to add on to that comes drama, relationships, friendships, an earthquake, and puberty. Can Raina survive it all? Will her teeth ever become normal again? This book is SO good, and the illustrations are fabulous! If you like graphic novels and coming of age stories, you will love Smile! Fun Fact: This is a true story! :) ;)
