This movie is all about a man named P.T. Barnum's life, from a boy on the streets, to a man with big dreams, to a circus leader! In his life, first, he and his father where very poor, and when his father died, he was on the streets, always writing letters to his friend Charity. When he grew up, he put on his finest suit, and went to Charity's father's mansion to request her hand in marraige. Everybody doubted him and his big dreams for something exotic, but it was soon a big hit!
There was also some other parts. Another man, Phillip Carlyle, fell on love with one of the trapeze artists, Anne Wheeler, an African American woman, it took a lot of convincing, but eventually, she agreed to his love, and loved him back. But Phillip's parents declined, all because she was African American.

P.S. This movie has a GREAT soundtrack!
This is how you know someone in the movie has just fallen in love: they will say, "Who is that?" And stare. Oh, and it will also be in slow motion.
