I would of never thought I would read and like a book like this, but it happened. I am in a trance when I read this. It is about a girl named Katarina, who is in her family business; thieves. This book is about her journey into the theft world and the people and objects who are obstacles in her way. I can never put the book down and as soon as I finished the book, I went right into the next one. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a series to get into and love.

satwikagejara's book review was featured in Sorcery of Thorns.
Elizabeth Scrivener has lived her whole life in a library. In the library, there are grimoires which are magical books. When someone sabotages the library and she intervened, she makes herself a suspect. She is now put into the company of Nathaniel Thorn; a Sorcerer and her worst enemy. This book follows her journey in this world of magic and her case of the attacked libraries. I loved this book because the setting reminds me a lot of Harry Potter. The vocabulary is immense and the book is beautifully written. The story is wrapped up in one book so readers don't have to wait years for a sequel. I highly recommend this book for Potter fans. -“Ink and parchment flowed through her veins. The magic of the Great Libraries lived in her very bones. They were a part of her, and she a part of them.”

Mare lives in a world were people with silver blood have magical powers and people with red blood are normal. The Silvers look down upon the Reds and treat them as peasants. Mare lives in a Red village with her family until Cal gets her a job in the palace to avoid being put in the army. Somehow, her electrical powers appear, almost killing Evangeline Samos. The royal family hides her identity to find out how this is possible. She is now Mareena Titanos and she is the daughter of a Silver general who died on the battlefield and was adopted by the Reds in the war zone. She is betrothed to Maven, Cal's step-brother. This book explores her journey as a Red in Silver company and her relation to the Scarlet Guard. I wanted to read more of Mare because of her situation and the special circumstances that put her in a major dilemma (Read the book to find out!). This also brings up a possibility that she had never thought of. Will Mare betray the royal family or will the royal family betray her? I loved the book for all the hidden morals the author is trying to tell us. Please read this book; you are going to love it. - We will rise Red as the dawn.

satwikagejara's book review was featured in Marcus Vega Doesn't Speak Spanish.
Marcus Vega is really big for his age. His brother has Down Syndrome. Marcus is collecting money off of his principal’s rules. His family doesn’t have a lot of money and it is just him, his mom, and his brother Charlie. After Marcus punches a boy for calling his brother a retard, his mom decides that it is time to take a break with her family. They go to Puerto Rico to see all of his family there, but what Marcus is interested in is finding his father. I love the diversity of this book and the fact that the book is based on the author's own experiences. Everyone should read this book because it is spectacular in many ways.

The main character is Mo. Her full name is Moses LoBeau and she is an orphan who is raised by Miss Lana and Colonel LoBeau. She was born during a hurricane and her mother tied her to a billboard that said Cafe Prospector. At the same time, the Colonel was driving in the hurricane and crashed into a tree and lost his memories as she came in on the billboard and bonked him on the head. Miss Lana asked around about whose baby it was for eleven years and they still haven't found her. Now, Mo is eleven years old and her best friend is Dale Johnson, and she knows how to hold the cafe on her own. One day, Detective Joe Starr comes into town with Deputy Marla, looking around for the murderer of Dolph Andrews. Soon after, Jesse Tautam, a stingy customer, turns up murdered too. Mo’s parents are kidnapped and Mo now dedicates herself to solving the case and finding her parents. In this book, there are lots of new vocabulary. I also adored the time this story took place. The author beautifully wove the traits of the characters and made them lovable. I definitely would recommend this book to other middle schoolers.

Malala was an ordinary girl who lived in Swat Valley, Mingora which is located in Pakistan. She was Muslim and believed in the Holy Quran. Her father ran a small school called The Kushal School. Her father allowed both girls and boys into his school and that caused many religious people to question the school. One day an Islamic scholar went to her house to speak with her father. They argued about if his school should allow girls. They came to a compromise that the girls should come into another gate. The Taliban were now in their town and were wreaking schools. They had to leave their town for a short period of time. Malala started to speak to the media about how she wanted to go to school and how she felt. I felt really inspired by Malala's story. She had come face to face with death and she still wasn't afraid to speak about what is right. I would readily recommend this book to anyone.
