I really really recommend this book, this book is actually a very interesting predictions for the future Earth. This book is based on statements of what it'll be like in the future when the aliens attacked Earth. My favorite part of the book is actually their slogans, Wave 1 - Darkness, Wave 2 - Destruction, Wave 3 - Infection, Wave 4 - Invasion, The 5th Wave - We fight back. I thought that their slogans are really cool and it's very interesting about how they came up with the idea of making it into 5th wave total but not more or less. To me, I'll definitely not wish for the aliens to one day really invade the Earth, it'll be very sad and sad since they bring people disaster and break apart both their heart and mind, they tear us apart from the inside. I feel sad and surprised about finding the death of her mom, I didn't expect that the author will talk about her mom and that her mom actually died.

The 5th Wave is probably my favourite book that I’ve read this year (it’s only February so hang on). I can’t believe that I have put off reading this for so long because it’s honestly so unbelievable, all of it. The author’s style of writing. The characters. The plot was so good it was insane! The pace of the book, the twists, the whole idea of the book in general - it was just amazing. The author’s writing can put you through a sort of trance; I spent three hours and finished the book in one sitting. This book was also really realistic which I like, because you can barely find any other realistic books that feature dystopian worlds/societies anymore. I especially loved the characters: Ben/Zombie, Cassie, Sam/Nugget, Ringer, Evan, each and every one of them. The author makes them come alive, with different personalities that never get boring. I really had fun reading this book. And as a plus this book gave me so much inspiration for writing my own stories, I literally could not stop writing! The author used a lot of literary devices that just enhanced the reading experience for me. The different points of view sort of made me confused but overall the book was perfect!

angelay's book review was featured in The Infinite Sea: The Second Book of the 5th Wave.
The Infinite Sea was okay compared to the first book which was The 5th Wave. I think the 5th Wave gave me more of a lasting impression than the Infinite Sea because I was already acquainted with most of the characters already. The book has such a haunting narrative throughout so I couldn’t help but be captivated by the plot (even though it wasn’t as good as the 5th Wave’s). The plotline is also full of action and suspense but the 2nd book is significantly shorter than the first, so I was kind of disappointed because as a reader I prefer longer books. I also like the way the author focuses on covering every plothole and answering every question through subtle hints, because that makes the reading experience even more immersive. My favorite character was Ringer, but the author is very unpredictable about his main characters as you cannot predict whether a secondary character will turn into a main character or not. Every character has a real background of their own and some of them are very relatable, and most of them have been through the same thing which are the first three waves: EM shutdown, tsunamis and the pestilence. I also learned something important from the series which is to always stick together because being a team is better than going solo, teamwork is very important.

I recommend this book, Kim is the main character and also my favorite character in the story. I feel very sad for Kim because his father is a hopeless, pathetic person that's addicted to alcohol, and he died at the very beginning. Leaving Kim behind, Kim was the poorest of the poor that went out begging for money everyday just to survive. I'm kind of confused in the part where he met Teshoo Lama, where he shot an arrow and when it landed, a river appeared. I'm not sure what does it mean but I think that's really cool and I really like how Kim never gives up and decide to become the disciple of Teshoo Lama. I think he's very brave and also Teshoo Lama is a very nice guy that decide to take this poor kid with him on the adventure of finding the river that'll cure anything and make everything pure again.
