When videogame obsessed Pete Watson discovers his dad is not only a super-spy but has been kidnapped and is now trapped inside a video game, he has to use his super gaming skills and enter the game to rescue him.  Will he be able to save his friends and family and the entire world from giant mechanical cockroaches and a massive cyber attack set to take down the world's network?  And if he succeeds, who will save Pete from his massive crush on Callie Midwood?
From the comedic mind of Joe Schreiber (Lenny Cyrus School Virus, Au Revoir Crazy European Chick, Perry's Killer Playlist), comes an action-packed Alex Rider-meets-Greg Heffley middle grade romp that grabs readers by the funny bone and doesn't let go! Illustrated throughout with black and white comic drawings by Andy Rash.

I really liked this book. The video game aspect was really cool and different than most books I've read. It is about a boy named Pete Watson and his best friend Wesley Midwood. They both LOVE video games. To get money to buy a new one Pete holds a garage sale and obliviously sells his dads old video game. But he doesn't know that by selling that he has put his dad and the entire world at risk! The end of the book has two BIG twists that will completely throw you off track. People of all ages will enjoy this book!

When I first saw this book, the first thing I thought was "Wreck-It-Ralph", one of my all-time favorite movies. This was as good, except completely different. It is different than other books, because it is not sci-fi and is like a video game. Also, the tone of voice the author makes it fun to read. There is mystery and humor and lots of action. Basically, Pete Watson is a normal 12 year old boy. He LOVES video games and is very good at them. His love of video games causes him to hold a garage sale in order to buy the video game he has been waiting for. When he sells something he thinks is trash, it turns out that could mean destroying the whole world. His dad is actually an undercover agent and is mysteriously kidnapped right after the sale. Now the race is on to find his dad, get his dream girl, and save the world from mass destruction all in 1:00 hour! The book has a little bit of romance and lot of adventure. I would recommend it to kids of all ages!

this book sounds interesting. oh, and i am a nerd too!! = )

awesooooommee!!!!!!!

Pete Watson is a video game nerd or geek or whatever u want to call it. So one day while his dad and mom are at his dad's company softball tournament Pete decides to sneak out and get the new Brawl-A-Thon 3000 but when he gets to the money he realizes that his mom borrowed $20 for him. Mad that he can't buy his game Pete decides to have a garage sale. While selling, a bug exterminator want's to buy his dad's old Commandroid 85 Arcade system. Little does Pete know that selling this the console will change the events of the world.!! A Kajllion times worse!!!! (totally legit number) If you like Diary of a Wimpy Kid you would love this book and the other books from diary of wimpy kid really funny as much as big nate piz read and have fun i mean like this book is really fun and i have not read it Line 2 Pete Watson is a video-game master who has the most normal family. Or so he thinks. When Pete finds out that not only is his dad a spy, but he was also trapped in a video game for evil purposes, it is up to Pete and his friends to solve the mystery. But can they crack the case before it's too late? This book was pretty good and I think that it will be very good for people to do.

Sounds awesome. I will try reading it sometime!

This looks like a good book!

Game Over, Pete Watson started off a little slow. In the beginning it seemed almost like Diary of a Wimpy Kid. But as the book continued, it got increasingly more engaging, and funny. It has tons of adventure, technology (fake though!), comedy and even a tad bit of romance. I would recommend this to boys of all ages and girls, too, if you're looking for something different.

If you are an extreme gamer, like me you'll love this book it's funny, mysterious, and a little confusing. please read this book you'll enjoy it!

I like this books beginning but in the final fight I started to lose interest. The story in general is very addictive just like video games. I think this book is good for ages 9 to 10. I am in fourth grade and it was just the right level but some parts seemed easy.
