Those Pesky Ants!

They are just one-eight of an inch in size, but these tiny red ants called "Crazy Raspberry Ants" are driving people in Houston, Texas - well, a little crazy! Nobody knows where they came from, but they are invading homes and yards by the billions.

Why Ants Never Lose Their Way

Ants are industrious little insects that always seem to know where they are heading - Now, a team of curious researchers from the Technical University of Munich and Brazilian Center for Physics Research believe they may have the answer - It's all to do with their in-built GPS systems.

Amidst all the hoopla about the Harbaugh brothers being pitted against each other in Super Bowl 47 and the fact that it was Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis's last game, there was one celebrity who went completely unnoticed - The team's offensive tackle, Michael Oher! For those that are drawing a blank he was the inspiration behind the 2010 Hollywood blockbuster, ' The Blind Side', for which Sandra Bullock received her first Oscar.

A School Cafeteria With No Chicken Fingers Or Meatballs? Hmm . .

Unless you are a vegetarian, the concept of a cafeteria with no meat, probably evokes images of broccoli (eww) and spinach (yuck). However, ask the kids at Active Learning Elementary School in Flushing, New York and they will tell you that it's much more than that. They would know because their school cafeteria offers only vegetarian food!

Thanks to the discovery numerous Portuguese chronicles, historians have always believed that it was Vasco Da Gama, the Portuguese explorer that sailed around Africa to India and back between 1497 and 1499, who first began trading with East Africa. However, the recent discovery of a rare coin in Kenya, may convince them to rethink that theory.

                                                                  Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

Unfortunately it is a Sunday, which means that you cannot pinch your school friends (not wearing green) and get away with it, but there are always unsuspecting family members and neighbors that you can have fun with. Also, be sure to go on an extensive search for those lucky fourleaf clovers and seek out leprechauns that will hopefully lead you to the elusive pot of gold. But before you do all that, be sure to read about the man whose death anniversary we celebrate and how all these unusual customs began.
