Video Of The Week - Pac-Man Comes Alive In Post-It Note 'Arcade'
Though there are thousands of video games created and released each year, very few evoke the same nostalgic memories that Pac-Man, the first video game to go mainstream, seems to. For how else can you explain Michael Birken's quest to create this incredible stop motion video using just Post-It notes.
The video that took 11 months to create, features Mr. Birken's two most favorite old school arcade games and is based on actual recorded game footage that he painstakingly printed out one frame at a time, and then transferred by hand, onto his office walls using Post-It Notes. He then replaced the background scenery with one consistent frame throughout the animation, resulting in this amazing life-like video. To appreciate the amount of work involved, be sure to view the second video too.
