Almost ten-year-old Katy Gordon is the best pitcher in her neighborhood. Every day, at recess, Katy plays baseball with the boys at school. At first, Katy had to put up with the snide comments that the boys kept saying to her (“What? She’s playing? I bet she won’t even be able to throw a ball, or run to first base! I mean, she’s a girl!”). But now, all the boys in the neighborhood know that Katy Gordon is the best pitcher they’ve got. But, when Katy tries out for Little League, things can’t be more different. Katy isn’t excepted to join the team, and the main problem is that she’s a girl. ‘Girls can’t play baseball, and it’s a boys’ sport’ Katy gets told every time. Katy Gordon is going to fight back, no matter what! She’s going to prove that she isn’t the only female baseball player!
Through this exhilarating tale, Katy has to use her wits and bravery.
Katy is going to prove that females can play ball, and do it well!
