Wonder... An inspiring story told by author R.J. Palacio. The sadness, the feeling this book gives you when you read it is heartbreaking. August Pullman, a young 10-year-old from Upper Manhattan, has a facial deformity, mandibulofacial dystosis. Because of his different features, he has been home-schooled for as long as he knows. When he finally begins school at Beecher Prep, his world changes. He meets both encouraging friends and backstabbing enemies at Beecher Prep. Throughout this beautiful story, you will be put into the shoes of Auggie, and experience things you never thought you would.

Catrina and her younger sister, Maya, are prepared to move to Bahia de la Luna. Although Cat will miss her friends, she knows that Maya, who has cystic fibrosis, will benefit from the refreshing sea air. When their family arrives, it is autumn, and Halloween (also celebrated as The Day of The Dead, or Dia De Los Muertos) will be coming soon. When Catrina and Maya go to explore their new town, they meet an unexpected friend, Carlos, who is also their neighbor. He tells them all about ghosts that prowl the town, scaring Cat and intriguing Maya. After facing a near-death experience with the ghosts, Cat is uncertain that she really wants to see the ghosts again. Read this book! It was great, fascinating, and very intriguing.

Wow! Very funny :) It is so cool how people edit movies to make them into something else.

I agree! J.K. Rowling collected so many beautiful, creative plots for her stories. But... Now, I feel as if she only wrote this book for the sake of Harry Potter fans. I would have loved to have been left to imagine the life of Harry's children, and not to have been given a different, more confusing story to picture in my head. Honestly, I was excited for all of the Harry Potter books. Since J.K. Rowling hadn't written any new books for so long, I was amazed that she decided to continue the series. I was so ecstatic to finally know how the story would end, or at least continue. But this wasn't it! This wasn't how the story was supposed to go, or at least in my mind. I know that so many people love this book, and I definitely respect that, but something was off about this book. It is possible that I need to revisit the series, review the characters, and refresh my mind with the latest books, so I ended up being confused for this one, but I do believe that this book didn't - by far - compare to the previous books. Please, don't think that I don't enjoy the series, though, because I really did.

The first time you read this story, savor the beautiful plot. Think of Matilda, her parents, and Miss Honey... Matilda was about a young, intelligent girl. Since the day Matilda was born, she was different from her family. Her mother, Mrs. Wormwood, and her father, Mr. Wormwood, believed that TV was the path to education. However, Matilda began reading at quite an early age. Matilda had been mistreated by her parents, who didn't care for her at all. Through books, poems, and dictionaries, Matilda become very smart, and her imagination led her to amazing places... places where she could be away from the wrath of Mr. and Mrs. Wormwood. When Matilda finally begins school (she was six when she finally began) she meets her sweet, calm, bright teacher, Miss Honey. But before Matilda gets her hopes high for a beautiful school year, she meets Ms. Trunchbull, the vicious, stubborn, evil headmistress of Crunchem Hall Primary School. Ms. Trunchbull hates all children... as a matter of fact, she hated everyone. Throughout this story, secrets unfold between Matilda, and Matilda discovers that she has powers to fight the bullies in her life...

In the book, "Matilda," by Roald Dahl, I met this girl, Matilda. She grew up in a house with a mean brother, a sassy mom, and a rich dad. Her parents never let her read, all she could do was watch TV. She lived a life of constant misery. Her dream was to go to school and get an education. Finally, her parents let her go to school. The principal was cruel to everyone, but mostly Matilda. However, there was one teacher, Miss Honey, that was kind to her and loved her. Here's the Spoiler Alert, at the end, Matilda was adopted by Miss Honey and her life got much better. This book is filled with adventures, some good and some bad. There are funny moments that make the book humorous. For example, Matilda loves playing pranks on her dad and brother. During one of her pranks, she glued her dad's hat so that when he put it on, it wouldn't come off. Later that day, Matilda's family went to a fancy restaurant and the hat came off but he became bald! It was a catastrophe!!! This is just one of many examples of the humor in this book. So, if you like a book that will give you a good laugh, then purchase it and start reading!!!

I looked at reviews for Wish. it sounded like a beautiful story. To be honest, I love stories involving dogs. It shows the beautiful companionship between a dog and its owner. My friend, Leah, said only good things about this book and it intrigued me much more. As I skimmed through this book at my school's book fair, I noticed impeccable word choice. I am a girl that enjoys having books on my shelf, books that I can sit down with one day and read, even if I have already read the book. It would mean the world to me to get this book, to be able to savor each vocabulary word, to bask in the beautiful life story of Charlie. Thank you!
