The last book of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series is full of adventure, fighting, and feelings. At the beginning of the book, Percy finally hears the prophecy that everybody talks about, and he is not happy about what he hears. After he gets all the campers to Mount Olympus to defend it, the fighting starts, with many loses on both sides. This book fulfills the expectations for the last book of a series, and is worth the read.Almost 9 years agofany13 has read this book.

The second installment of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series is one of the only cases in which I actually enjoyed the second book in a series. In this book Percy discovers he has a half-brother, and has escapes from Camp Half-Blood to go to the Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Sea of Monsters. He adventures into the Sea to recover the Golden Fleece, the only magical object capable of saving Thalia's Three, the magical barrier that prevents Camp Half-Blood from being destroyed by monsters. As funny and interesting as the first book, anybody can enjoy this book series, not only middle grade students.Almost 9 years agofany13 added a book review.
After the rescue mission for two demigods goes wrong, Annabeth is kidnapped by a manticore. While in Camp Half-Blood everybody hears a prophecy that a group of five has to go west to save the goddess Artemis. Percy follows the group and finally joins them. After arriving to the mountain where both Artemis and Annabeth are prisoners, a battle follows, where Artemis' second in command dies. Later, in Mount Olympus, Thalia becomes Artemis' second. In this book we are introduced to two new demigods, Bianca and Nico di Angelo, the later being my favorite character in the series, and also a very important character for the rest of the series and the sequel series. As always, you don't even realize you are turning the pages, because you are really absorbed into the story.Almost 9 years agofany13 added a book review.
A few months after the events of the Titan's Curse, while in Camp Half-Blood, Percy and Annabeth find an entrance to the Labyrinth. After hearing a prophecy, Annabeth chooses Percy, Grover, and Tyson to go with her to the Labyrinth to find its creator, Daedalus, and convince him to fight for them, and to stop Luke from invading Camp. Even though the plan seems easy enough, traveling the Labyrinth is harder than it seems, and the friends will end up having to do things that weren't in the plan. This fourth book is filled with plot twists, new characters, and an incredible plot. As funny and interesting as the other books, this installment continues to narrate Percy's adventures.Almost 9 years agofany13 has read this book.

A prequel to the Throne of Glass books, this collection of novellas narrates the past of the best assassin of Erilea: Celaena Sardothien. These stories give more backstory to Celaena, and help us understand why she is the way that she is. Many of the events that happen here are narrated in passing in the other books, so it is better to read before, since they wouldn't be considered spoilers.Almost 9 years agofany13's book review was featured in The Selection.
I have never been a fan of romance, and if possible, I try to avoid non-fiction. I decided to make an exception for the selection, if only because I wanted to try new stuff. Set in the future, this book focuses on America Singer, and how she enters a competition to marry the crown prince. I enjoyed most of it, I liked most of the characters, and the writing style. What I didn´t enjoy was that America could never make up her mind. Every decision she was about to make was followed by indecision. She questioned everything she made, and overly thought things. Even when she made a decision, three pages later she changed it. I read the other books to give her a chance, and she still disappointed me. I am still going to read the fourth book, since it focuses on anther character, and I´m going to hope she isn´t as indecisive as her mother.Almost 9 years agofany13 added a book review.

America Singer has become part of the Elite, the last 6 participants of the Selection. Just like the second books in many series, I did not enjoy this book as much as the others. America still isn't able to decide whether she wants to be with the ex-boyfriend that broke up with her, or the prince that wants to give her everything. I understand that the choice is more that just two boys: If she chooses one, she will become a Six, only two steps above poverty, and if she chooses the other, she will become a One, and later the queen of the country. Still, her problem with decision-making doesn't just apply to the two men.Almost 9 years ago
