J.K. Rowling’s new book starts in the lovely little kingdom of Cornucopia. Ruled by King Fred the Fearless. With the capital of said kingdom, Chouxville, where they had a pastry shop that had the most delicious pastries in possibly the whole world (And that’s an understatement.) But while Kurdsberg is famous for their many types of cheese, and Baronstown is famous for their fine selection of meats, there was a small part near the northern tip of Cornucopia that could only be best described as the Marshlands. A place that grew nothing more than a few mushrooms and dry grass. The only good thing that came out of there was the legend of the Ickabog. When a Marshlander comes to King Fred and claims the Ickabog ate his poor dog, Fred sets out on a quest to find this Ickabog, see if it is real. And then slay it. When they see nothing, they assume, like always, that the Ickabog was never real. Or is it? Good book, hard to put down. Really liked all the drawings from kids in there. The only thing I didn’t like is the fact that in a book that is directed to 9-11 year olds, that there was some really dark moments.Over 3 years agopizzagirl7liked a comment in The Ickabog.
I really enjoyed reading this book! I had some very high expectations because JK Rowling write the book and Harry Potter is one of my favorite book series of all time. This book exceeded the expectations! It is set in a land called Cornucopia and is ruled by King Fred the Fearless. The book traveled down roads that I would not have expected, and there were plot twists the I did expect and ones that I didn't expect. It is a book that does not have a ton of action, like fight scenes in it, but there are plenty examples of trickery and betrayal. Overall, I loved this book and would recommend it to any of my friends.Over 3 years ago
