Many of the Wildlife Rescue Centers struggle to have enough money to keep themselves running. They rely on federal or state funding, donations from the public or from visitors to their centers. Do you think it is important to have these centers? Explain your thinking Mrs. Bousquet

I think rescue centers let scientists study wild animals so we can learn about them. D. T.

People can go there to visit and this will make them care about the animals. It might also lead people to donate money to the rescue center so they can keep running. It also gives people info and teaches about wildlife. They want people to see which animals need help and what they can do to keep them safe. They want people to know that animals are important, too! Why didn't I ever think of this? Sometimes I see an invention, and I think, "Wow!" I could have done that. In this case, I think about how I used to go to parks as a kid, then as a mom with my own daughters and now out to the playground with all of you and as the article tells us, playgrounds have virtually remained unchanged. Well, I can't wait for the day when I have grandchildren and I get to play at a playground like this. I love that they reflect the world around us. 1. Would you leave a video game and go to a Monstrum playground if there was one? 2. Design a Monstrum playground using your imagination and a lot of thought. What would it be, what would it contain and how would it work? Bring in your design to a morning meeting to share.

This article fits in so well with our study of biomes and our focus on the community. How might the activities in our community impact the earth's biomes? Sometimes, problems look so large that we feel like we can't make a difference. The reporter in the video ends by telling us that everyone can help? Do you believe this is true? Brainstorm ways that you might make a difference. Post in your comment.

Reading this made me so emotional. I always feel many emotions when I hear about or see any type of bullying. Do you believe that Bolsa Chica Bob was being bullied and that animals might actually bully other animals? Why/why not (give supporting evidence)? Do you think that there is a way to stop bullying in humans? Explain.

This article just made my heart sing! I really admire and love what Mr. Payeng has accomplished. What do you think is most important about this piece? Think deeply (synthesize).
