The purpose of the music video is for all the students who go to Moses Brown School to tell them in a fun why that school is closed.
It says in the paragraph " According to Glendinning, the video which took a week to create, was in planning long before New England was hit by the massive blizzard that forced the school closure." This is how I know that the video is created well before the snow day.
